What is tcpdump#

tcpdump is a commandline tool allowing to display on the screen the TCP/IP and other packed being transmitted and received over the network.

tcpdump is not available by default on Windows machines.

tcpdump usage#

Dump network traffic and store it to a file:

tcp -w <file>

The command above will create a packet capture file.
